As I mentioned before, the writer’s life is one of ups and downs. One of the downs is watching the mailbox for cheques to arrive. Seems to take longer every year. One of the ups is getting a `best of’ anthology from an editor with your story in it.

I recently received my copy of Wondrous Web Worlds Volume 6 from Sam’s Dot Publishing. It’s a handsome little volume, and I feel very proud to have been included in it. The contents are a cross section of stories published by Sam’s Dot in 2005. My story is Mare Mortis, which was published in Martian Wave. I’m included with such sf luminaries as Teri Leigh Relf and J Alan Erwine. Gotta be proud!

Sam’s Dot is a great little publishing venture. I have been published in their zines Illumens and Scaifikuest as well as having a few 100 word stories (called drabbles) published. They are great to write for, very encouraging and supportive, as this latest publication proves.

If you love horror and sf, take a look at their website. Sam’s Dot publish a variety of great mags and anthologies and always have a bit of work on offer for writers. Bookmark their free newsletter Expressions and you’ll get paying markets every month. Plus they are darned nice folk.
